Download your own tracks and routes from the Track of the Day cloud and use them for navigation. You can also browse tracks and routes shared by the TD community — discover new roads ridden by others.

Every track and every route in the TD cloud carries a short sharing code. In the list you will find a “Share” link in the row with distance and stops. Tap it and TDM shows the code, a short set of instructions for the recipient and two buttons: Copy puts the code on the clipboard, Share opens your phone's own share sheet — e-mail, WhatsApp, Signal, Messenger, whatever is installed there. Whoever receives the code types it into the app under “Search” in the field “TD sharing token” and lands straight at your route — this finds tracks just as well as routes. Keep in mind: the code works even when the route is private — that is exactly what it is for, so pass it on only when you mean to. Freshly uploaded routes get their code from the cloud; it shows up after the next refresh.
Long-press any point on the loaded track or route to enter it right there — the context menu offers the entry option when you are close enough. For routes you can additionally open the list of route points and pick your entry point precisely from the list.

Free driving means: the map follows your position, you see speed and altitude, but there is no destination — perfect for cruising. Navigation guides you along a route with maneuvers and voice announcements. And remember the My-Position button: one tap switches the automatic centering off (the icon turns gray) — that is the planning mode for editing the map while standing still; another tap switches it back on.

The simulation drives the loaded route virtually — with real maneuver displays and announcements. While the maneuver simulation is active, the validity of each maneuver is drawn on the map as a green line, so you can see exactly where an instruction begins and ends. Maneuver and turn details can be closed simply by tapping them.

Before navigation starts, the route is automatically calculated by the routing service — this is the step that produces the maneuvers (turn instructions). Without this calculation there would be no announcements. That is why starting navigation on a freshly loaded route always triggers a short calculation first.

Maneuvers and voice announcements always use the language set in the app. Caution: with German set, Spanish street names are pronounced completely wrong. For correct pronunciation on a Spain tour, switch the app language to Spanish and install a matching Spanish voice on your phone. On the iPhone, premium voices are available — they noticeably improve announcement quality.

Always watch the traffic and obey the traffic rules — the app never relieves you of that. Speed limits shown in the app come from internet providers: they can be outdated or simply wrong, especially where several roads run right next to each other and GPS cannot pinpoint which one you are on. The signs on the road are what counts.

Track of the Day also runs on your car's Android Auto display and mirrors the running navigation — with map, turn instructions and announcements.
NEW: You can now pick your saved routes and tracks right on the car display via the "Library" button and either start them, run them as a demo or simply show them — without reaching for your phone. “Show” loads the route or track and displays it complete on the map without starting anything. Zoom, start/stop and pause/simulation can also be operated directly on the display.
For this, Android Auto must be supported by the vehicle (or head unit) and the app must be opened through it.
Stopped a route? It stays on the car display and can be restarted or simulated from there. And the last row of “Recent destinations” clears the list — tap it twice.

All on/off switches of the car menu – map heading, sounds, voice, 3D, speedometer, POIs, traffic, closures, automatic recording, auto start, round trips – now live on one list page called “Options”. Flip a switch and the list stays where it is. The speedo size has its own picker page (small, normal, large). The tiles are now sorted the way you reach for them in the car: “Where to?”, “Tracks”, “Routes”, then “Map” and “Overview”, then the settings block “Options”, “Volume” and “Presets”, then “Simulation” with its speed right next to it, and finally marker, recenter, video, diagnostics and info. Tiles that would do nothing at this moment stay away – “Resume”, “Delete route” or “Diagnostics” only appear when there is something to resume, to delete or to send. The map tile is called “Map” and carries “Refresh” as its second line: it rebuilds the car map when tiles are missing. The tile “Simulation” drives the loaded route or track as a demo; while navigating it turns the running navigation into a simulation; with nothing loaded it says exactly that (“no destination”) and asks you to set a destination or load a route or track first – it no longer invents a demo destination of its own. For the same reason the start and simulation buttons on the map screen only appear once something is loaded: without a destination there is nothing to drive, and a button without effect is worse at the handlebar than no button at all. How fast the simulation drives is set right next to it under “Speed / Simulation” – that tile is there at all times now instead of only while the simulation switch is on. The tile “Video” records the map area of the car screen as an MP4 — start and stop right on the display, the recording ends by itself after the set maximum length, and the finished clip lands in the gallery under Movies/TDM.

While navigating, TDM records your position – it needs the position stream to keep guiding you when the phone is locked. Whether that recording is kept as a track is your decision: with “Automatic track recording” switched on, every ride ends up in the Tracks tab; switched off, nothing is stored after the navigation ends. Recordings you start yourself with the red button are always saved.
Once a day, ten seconds after the map appears, TDM checks the store for a newer version – never while you navigate and never on the car screen. If there is one, you get a short notice with “Update now” (opens the store) or “Later” (quiet for three days). Without internet nothing happens. You can also check manually: Settings > App info > Check for updates.
