GS-Route (Classic) – new version coming soon
The proven Windows version of GS-Route is getting a major update with the features of the new generation:
- Offline maps for 60+ regions with quick activation straight from the toolbar
- Offline routing: complete route calculation on the device — no internet required
- KAKIMOTO curvy routes: roll the dice on twisty fun routes, with reroll
- Super-curves layer: twisty roads highlighted in colour on the map

The Pro Edition for the desktop has received the new offline capabilities — available in the Microsoft Store:

🧪 Test build of the Avalonia edition
Track of the Day now exists a second time: the same application, rebuilt from the ground up so that it runs on a Mac and under Linux as well as on Windows. The Windows build of this new development is available here as a test build — explicitly for comparison: the same task once in the Store version, once here, and then a report on where the two differ.
⚠ Please back up first
The Avalonia build works on THE SAME data as the Store version: the same database, the same garage, the same routing profiles. That is intended — it is the only way to compare one to one — but it also means that a fault in the test build hits your real data. The setup helper therefore creates a backup under “Documents\Track of the day\Backups” before installing.

⚡ The easy way: the setup helper
The setup helper places the certificate in the right store and installs the app – without the Windows certificate wizard that trips up most people. It checks the certificate’s thumbprint and the package signature first and stops if anything is off.
- Download the file. If the browser warns, choose “Keep”.
- Double-click it, then confirm the Windows prompt with “Yes”.
- Lean back: the window shows every step and leaves a log on your desktop.
What happens to your Store version
All three builds may be installed side by side: the Store version, the test build of the Windows edition and this one. Each has its own package identity and its own Start menu entry. But please run only ONE at a time — two programs writing to the same database at once are a way to lose data.
On first start
The test build shows the licence agreement once, and Windows asks once for location permission. That permission is per application — the one granted to your Store version does not count for the test build.
Removing it again
Settings → Apps → Installed apps → uninstall “Track of the day - Avalonia-Beta”. Your data stays, because it lives outside the package.

Get the certificate
Download the developer certificate first. If the browser warns about the download, choose “Keep” – without the certificate Windows refuses the installation.
Install the certificate
Double-click the file, then “Install Certificate…”. Store location “Local Machine” (Windows asks for administrator rights), then “Place all certificates in the following store” and pick “Trusted People” – not “automatically select”.
Install the package
Double-click the MSIX file, then “Install”. This takes a minute or two.
Get going
The Start menu shows “Track of the day - Avalonia-Beta” next to your Store version. Both can be opened — but please not at the same time.
About the developer certificate
The certificate is self-issued; it does not come from a public certification authority. Whoever places it under “Trusted People” trusts every program signed with it. So before you install it, compare the thumbprint Windows shows with this one:

💡 Free Edition and Pro Edition – what is the difference?
All products of the family are available as a Free Edition — plan, ride and record with it. The Pro Edition additionally unlocks the premium services: high-quality map material, traffic information, geocoding and special routing from Microsoft Azure Maps, HERE Maps, Google Maps and GraphHopper.
These services cannot be offered free of charge — the providers bill every map tile, every route calculation and every address search individually. The price lists are public and can be checked at any time:

On top of that comes the operation of the TD Suite itself: several web server instances and app services in Microsoft Azure, test environments, SSL certificates, databases and the cloud storage for tracks and routes — none of that is free either.
Important: By buying a Pro licence you merely contribute to covering exactly the costs you cause yourself while using the products. It is not about profit — it is about keeping the services permanently available for everyone.
🔑 Free trial licence – how it works
The TD Suite can be tried out in full with a free trial licence — one licence for all components. The key to this is the credentials file in JSON format:
Request a trial licence
Request the free trial licence in the portal — the licence key arrives by e-mail.
Register in the portal
Create an account in the TD Portal with the licence key and sign in.
Download the credentials file
Download your credentials as a JSON file in your account (TD-LicenseData.json) — it contains the licence key and login data.

Import the JSON file into Track of the Day, GS-Route and TD-Mobile — done: all components are unlocked.
